TL;DR: Prompt Architects vs Sider is breadth against depth. Sider is the broader tool: multi-model chat, a browser agent, image and video generation, translation and apps on every platform. Prompt Architects goes deeper on one job: building, improving and storing prompts inside ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Pick Sider for an all-round assistant, and Prompt Architects for better prompts.
We will start with the sentence that matters most in any Prompt Architects vs Sider comparison: Sider is the broader product. It does far more things than we do, it has far more users, and if you want one AI tool that covers most of your browsing day, it is the better choice.
What we do is narrower. Prompt Architects takes the prompt you are about to send and makes it better, then keeps your best prompts somewhere you can find them again. If that is the problem you have, depth beats breadth.
A disclosure: we make Prompt Architects. Everything about Sider below comes from Sider's own website, pricing page and Chrome Web Store listing, read on 17 September 2026. We did not create a Sider account or pay for a plan. For a full look at Sider on its own, including how its credit tiers work, see our Sider AI review.
What does each tool actually do?
Sider is an all-in-one AI sidebar and app suite. Prompt Architects is a prompt builder and library that works inside the chat apps you already use. Here is what each company says it does.
Sider's pricing page, checked 17 September 2026, groups the product into four main areas:
- Chat. Chat with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and other models; summarise articles; translate webpages, PDFs and images; explain concepts.
- Hand. A browser agent that compares prices, fills in forms, researches across websites and sorts a Gmail inbox. Sider describes it as visible browser work that you can follow step by step.
- Code. Change how any website looks and works, and add AI features to sites.
- Create. Generate images and videos with several named models, plus slides and documents.
Around those sit Wisebase for research and notes, ChatPDF, YouTube summaries, an AI writer, audio-to-text, and apps for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows. The Chrome Web Store listing adds group chat with several models at once, artifacts, writing help in any text box, and a Prompt Library.
Prompt Architects does less, on purpose:
- Architected Prompt Generation. It turns a rough request into a structured prompt with a role, task, context, constraints and output format.
- Refine and Shorten modes, and a Tone Selector on Pro and above. Quality Score on Advanced.
- Image and video prompt generation. Image is on Pro and above; video is on Advanced and Team.
- A library with tags, search, a Template Library and a Personal Context Library, plus global variables in the
{{variable_id}}format. - Team sharing of prompts and quota on the Team plan, and an MCP server for Claude Desktop, Claude.ai, Claude Code, Cursor and Codex.

"Not listed" means we did not find it on Sider's pricing page, homepage or store listing on 17 September 2026. It does not prove the feature is missing. Sider ships often, so check its current pages.
Where does Sider clearly win?
Sider wins on breadth, reach and the free tier. If your AI use is spread across reading, writing, translating, researching and creating, Sider covers more of it than we do, and in more places.
- One tool for many jobs. Chat, translation, summaries, image and video generation, and a browser agent all sit under one subscription. Sider's pricing page says all plans include all features, and higher plans add credits and a stronger cloud computer.
- An agent that does the work. Hand acts on websites for you. Prompt Architects never takes actions in your browser.
- Every platform. Sider lists apps for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows, and its pricing FAQ says a subscription bought through the extension works on supported platforms such as the Mac app. Prompt Architects is a Chrome and Firefox extension plus a web app, with no mobile app.
- A broader free tier. The FAQ text in Sider's pricing page code lists 30 Basic Credits a day, 10 image queries in total and 10 PDFs in total for free users. Our Free plan gives 5 prompt enhancements a day and cannot save prompts.
- Scale. Sider's Chrome Web Store listing showed 5,000,000 users and a 4.9 rating from 114.4K ratings, version 5.32.9, updated 15 September 2026.
For comparison, the Prompt Architects listing showed a 4.8 rating from 36 ratings and 1,000 users on the same day. We are a small, bootstrapped product, and those numbers show it.
Sider also publishes larger user figures than its store count: its pricing page claims more than 10 million active users, and its store description mentions more than 6 million weekly active users across Chrome and Edge. Those likely count more platforms than the Chrome listing does. We cannot check how Sider calculates them, so we report all three.
Where does Prompt Architects go deeper?
On the prompt itself. Sider lets you save prompts and call them up with a slash. Prompt Architects is built around writing, improving and organising prompts, which covers more of that work.
Here is what that means in practice:
- It rewrites the prompt, not just stores it. You type a rough request, and it returns a structured prompt. A saved prompt library helps you reuse good prompts. It does not help you write a good prompt in the first place.
- It has several ways to edit. Refine improves a prompt you already have, Shorten trims it, and the Tone Selector changes its voice. On Advanced, Quality Score rates the prompt so you can see what is weak.
- It covers image and video prompts as their own formats. Sider's image tool includes a Prompt Optimizer, which is a genuine overlap and worth using if you generate images in Sider. Prompt Architects also builds video prompts on Advanced, which we did not find listed on Sider's pages.
- It keeps context consistent. The Personal Context Library stores details you reuse, such as your product, audience or brand voice, and global variables fill in short repeated values.
- It works where developers work. The MCP server brings the improve, refine, shorten and enhance tools into Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor, so prompt work does not need a browser.
- It shares with a team. The Team plan gives 2 to 20 members a shared library and a shared quota, with the owner managing seats.
None of this makes Sider worse. It means the two tools stop overlapping once your question becomes how to write better prompts rather than which AI tool to use.
Is Sider's prompt library enough on its own?
For many people, yes. If you already write good prompts and only need somewhere to keep a dozen of them, Sider's Prompt Library does that, and you do not need a second tool.
Sider's store listing describes creating and saving custom prompts and calling them up with a slash while you chat. That covers the most common need: stop retyping the same instructions. If you already use Sider every day, try it first.
A dedicated prompt tool becomes worth adding when one of these applies:
- Your saved prompts are not very good. Storing a weak prompt only means you reuse a weak prompt. The rewrite step is what fixes that.
- You have more than a few dozen prompts. Tags, search and templates matter more as the library grows.
- You work across several AI apps. A prompt saved inside one sidebar stays in that sidebar. Prompt Architects works in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, and its improve, refine and shorten tools are also available in Claude Desktop and Cursor through the MCP server.
- Other people need the same prompts. Shared team libraries are part of our Team plan. We did not find team prompt sharing on the Sider pages we read.
What does each one cost?
Prompt Architects publishes fixed prices. Sider's prices load in the browser, so we could not read dollar amounts from its page directly. Check both pricing pages on the day you decide.
| Prompt Architects (17 Sep 2026) | Sider (17 Sep 2026) | |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 5 enhancements a day, no saved prompts | 30 Basic Credits a day, 10 image queries and 10 PDFs in total, per its pricing page FAQ text |
| Paid plans | Pro $4.99/month, Advanced $9.99/month, Team $10/month + $3.50 per member | Basic, Plus and Ultra named in the page metadata; prices load dynamically |
| Yearly | Pro $49.99, Advanced $99.99, Team $100 + $35 per member | Offered; see the live page |
| How usage is counted | Enhancements per month (200 on Pro, unlimited on Advanced) | Credits shared across features; the amount used depends on model, feature and task, per the pricing page |
| Refunds | 14-day money-back guarantee | Its FAQ says refund policies apply and points to its help centre |

One point matters when comparing them. Sider's credits cover chat, agent tasks and image generation from a single pool, so heavy image or agent use leaves fewer credits for chat. Prompt Architects counts only prompt enhancements, and the chat itself happens in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini on whatever plan you already have there, including their free tiers.
Can you use both at once?
Yes, and many people will be best served that way. Use Sider as your everyday assistant and Prompt Architects for prompts you want to get right and keep.
A simple split looks like this:
- In Sider: summaries, translation, quick questions on the page you are reading, agent tasks, and image or video generation.
- In Prompt Architects: prompts you will reuse, such as client briefs, weekly reports and image or video styles, plus anything you share with a team.
- Between them: build and save a prompt in Prompt Architects, then paste it into Sider's chat or image tool when you want Sider's models to run it.
Two practical points. Both tools use keyboard shortcuts, so if one stops opening, check whether the other has taken its key and change one in settings. Sider also opens saved prompts when you type a slash, so if you use another slash-based tool in the same chat box, decide which one should own that key.
Here is a short test you can run on both in ten minutes:
Test: same rough request, two tools
Rough request:
write a follow up email to a client who has not paid an invoice, keep it friendly
1. In Sider: paste the request into chat and note the reply.
Then open the Prompt Library, save the request, and reuse it once.
2. In Prompt Architects (Free plan is enough): enhance the same request,
paste the structured prompt into ChatGPT or Claude, and note the reply.
3. Compare:
- Which reply needed fewer edits before you could send it?
- Which tool let you add the invoice number, amount and due date most easily?
- Which one will you actually open next time?
Which one should you choose?
Choose Sider if you want one AI tool for most of your browsing day. Choose Prompt Architects if your results suffer because your prompts are vague, inconsistent or hard to find again.
- Students, researchers and heavy readers: Sider. Summaries, PDF chat, translation and Wisebase are what you need.
- People who want AI to take actions: Sider. Hand does the clicking; Prompt Architects never will. If agent work is your main need, compare Sider with HARPA in HARPA AI vs Sider.
- Writers, marketers and freelancers who reuse the same prompts weekly: Prompt Architects. The library, context and Refine mode save more time than a larger feature list.
- Image and video prompt writers: Prompt Architects for building and storing prompts, and Sider or your usual generator for creating the output.
- Developers in Claude Code or Cursor: Prompt Architects, through the MCP server.
- Teams sharing prompts: Prompt Architects Team.
