Definition
Persona prompting assigns the model a detailed character or expert role at the start of a prompt. Stronger than basic role assignment ('act as a copywriter') because it specifies experience, voice attributes, biography, and what the persona would not say. The model uses these as constraints on output. Useful for brand-voice content, customer simulation, and educational tutoring.
Example
'Act as a senior B2B copywriter with 10 years SaaS experience. Voice: confident, specific, slightly playful, never uses corporate jargon. Would not start sentences with In today's world.'
When to use
Brand-voice content, customer interview simulation, education, scenarios needing consistent voice.
